nikdy nezobúdzajte škrečka, keď tuho spí.

nikdy nekričte a nerobte žiadne unáhlené pohyby.

nikdy ho neberte zozadu, musí vidieť vašu ruku.

nikdy ho pevne nestískajte- nechajte ho prebiehať z ruky do ruky.

nikdy nedávajte škrečkovi slané oriešky, lupienky, čokoládu, sladkosti ani nič lepkavé- mohlo by sa mu to zachytiť v lícnych vakoch.

nikdy netrhajte voľne rastúce rastliny v okolí ciest- kvôli splodinám, a nikdy na trávniku postriekanom insekticídmi(postrekom proti hmyzu).

nikdy nepoužívajte ako materiál na hniezdo noviny, pretože tlačiarenská čerň je pre škrečky jedovatá.

nikdy nedávajte ako drevo na obhrýzanie drevo zo štedreca(Forzítia) alebo stálozelených stromov (tis a pod.)-sú jedovaté.

nikdy nedávajte do klietky nič, čo je vyrobené z tenkej umelej hmoty- keď škrečok kúsky zhltne, nedokáže ich stráviť.

nikdy mäkké drevo- odlupujú sa z neho triesky a škrečok by si mohol poškriabať lícne vaky.
